Dress in layers. Sweater or sweatshirt, then a layer of fabric at the top. Heavy jacket for later in the winter. (I got mine at Sears, $ 50 - $ 80, I think.) Down is nice, but expensive.

Proof of the business or goodwill value on Mass Ave near Central Square Red Line, or new on Comm Ave in the vicinity of Pleasant Street on the Green Line B, stop Goodwill clothes are cheap, the selection is highly variable.

Or try Sears or Old Navy in the Cambridgeside Galleria (Lechmere Green Line) stop. Things are better, more expensive than business or goodwill.

Marshall, near Copley Square on the Green Line.
Destination in South Bay Shopping Center (Red Line to Andrew, then the shuttle to the mall.

Want to clothes, good winter low price? Take the T to Central Square in Cambridge. If you are to Boston, go one block after crossing the street - Goodwill Store.

First sweater. You also get a hood for when it is not too cold, or wear on the inside than it is. Try to find a vest to lower down in real terms, polyester wadding. Same down jacket. All done. For cheap.

You will not find any property that is cheap. Your best option would be a Gore-Tex shell, because we have many storms of rain, cold, mixed rain / have snow, ice and sleet. Get a line with a zipper fleece for warmth. You can not say "price" because it is depending on the source, but Gore-Tex is not cheap.
